The summer transfer window may have closed a week ago, but our Football League clubs are ready to let in a bit of air through the emergency loan one instead.
As ever, the Premier League was reluctant to commit to long-term deals for many players deemed surplus to requirements before then and could be more open to losing them on short-term deals, knowing they can always be recalled in the event of an injury.
Here are a few players who could become targets for clubs in the Championship
12. Harrison Reed (Southampton)
Despite featuring twice in Southampton's unsuccessful Europa League qualifying campaign (albeit only for 18 minutes) Reed is yet to play in the Premier League this season.
He has been on the bench in three out of four games, though, but with Jordy Clasie nearing a return and Victor Wanyama, Steven Davis, James Ward-Prowse and Oriol Romeu for manager Ronald Koeman to call upon, Reed could be sent away to gain some much needed experience.
11. Jerome Sinclair (Liverpool)
Sinclair has scored goals for fun at youth team level and is ready to try his hand in a real football environment, although perhaps not at Premier League level yet. A spell at Wigan towards the end of last season gave him a brief taste of life in the first team but both he and his club will be keen to secure more of that this term.
Liverpool stars Jordon Ibe, James Milner and Jordan Henderson all cut their teeth on loan to lower league clubs
10. Bruno Zuculini (Manchester City)
City's abundance of overseas players meant their
was no place in Manuel Pellegrini's Premier League or Champions
League squads for Zuculini, who could use a spell in the Championship to
get used to the English game.
The Argentina starlet spent last season in La Liga with Valencia and Cordoba, which was perhaps too big a step too soon based on Marca's inclusion of him in their 'Worst Team of the Season'.
There is some talent there, though, if this goal scored in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Monday is anything to go by.
Hennessey, who was a Championship winner with Wolves in 2008-09, was linked with a move to Black Country rivals West Brom prior to Anders Lindegaard's arrival from Manchester United.
The 30-year-old has less than a year to run on his Black Cats' deal and may want to put himself in the shop window in a division where he's scored goals in the past - notably for Watford and Middlesbrough

9. Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace)
Wales' No.1 isn't even Palace's second choice goalkeeper following the arrival of Alex McCarthy from Queens Park Rangers in the summer and will hope to be playing regularly as his national team continues its bid for Euro 2016 qualification.

8. Will Buckley (Sunderland)
A reported target for Leeds United and others in
the summer, Buckley remained at the Stadium of Light after his club
were understood to have asked for too much money.
The winger cost around £2.5m from Brighton a year ago, so there's a good player there, but Dick Advocaat doesn't appear to fancy him - leaving him out of all five of his matchday squads this season.
And that could free up Loftus-Cheek, who made his Premier League start in April, to add to his experience elsewhere. He'd be loaned out player No.34 at Stamford Bridge.

7. Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea)
Despite speculation on the contrary, Chelsea kept hold of all their first-team central midfielders in the summer, adding Senegalese defender Papy Djilobodji who can also play there.

6. Joao Carlos Teixeira (Liverpool)
Teixeira impressed in a rare off-season for
Brighton last term but has found his path to Liverpool's first team
blocked by Brazilians Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
The Portuguese playmaker is not on the Reds' Europa League squad list either, which points to one place and one place only if he wants to play: the Championship, on loan.

5. Danny Graham (Sunderland)
He may have appeared in three of Sunderland's four Premier League matches this season but Graham is likely to find regular games hard to come by following the late-window additions of Ola Toivonen and Fabio Borini.

4. Jesse Lingard (Manchester United)
Lingard seems to have spent his entire footballing life on loan in the Championship but with opportunities at Manchester United few and far between, another temporary exit may be his best chance of playing football.
11 goals and eight assists in 47 second tier appearances suggest the England Under-21 star is ready for the next step of Premier League football, which may be away from Old Trafford - and that cannot happen until January. An emergency loan could provide a short-term solution.
3. Gary Hooper (Norwich City)
Hooper is understood to have had medicals at both
Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham during the last few days of the transfer
window but a move away from Norwich did not materialise.
Both clubs failed to find alternatives and Norwich, who signed Dynamo Kiev's Dieumerci Mbokani in the meantime, could be more willing to entertain a short-term deal for insurance purposes.
The 27-year-old has not played a single minute for Alan Pardew's side this season but boasts an impressive record of 22 goals in 46 games at Championship level, catalysing Cardiff City to promotion in his last spell there.
The England Under-21 international is in need of games, though, and a short-term loan to the Championship would be ideal. A two-month arrangement would set Wilson up nicely for the festive period and, should anything disastrous happen back in Manchester, the Red Devils could always recall him at 24 hours notice.

2. Fraizer Campbell (Crystal Palace)
One of several victims of Palace's impressive summer recruitment drive, Campbell, like Dwight Gayle and Glenn Murray (now of Bournemouth), has been forced down the Eagles' pecking order by new arrivals Connor Wickham and Patrick Bamford.

1. James Wilson (Manchester United)
Despite Manchester United's stark shortage of strikers, Wilson almost departed during the summer transfer window. However, a full- or half-season loan was deemed too risky by United, who would be left in the lurch if injuries to Wayne Rooney or Anthony Martial occur.
